HCT Sun has initiated a solar installation project with SV – Prabhu Mills, a renowned textile manufacturer in Tamil Nadu, marking a significant milestone in the adoption of clean energy in the region.
This project involves a flush-mount rooftop installation that generates 5.59 MWp of energy generation. Project SV comprises 8576 top-notch solar modules. The project operates under the Opex business model, making it a financially viable option for the textile manufacturer. The project was completed in a mere 45 days, with over 80 team members working around the clock, to bring this project to fruition.
One of the most significant benefits of this solar powerhouse is the substantial reduction of fossil fuel emissions. By implementing this, SV is projected to reduce CO2 emissions by 3488 tons annually, equivalent to planting approximately 94,492 trees.
However, such a massive project was not without its challenges. These included manpower handling, tool handling, and training laborers. However, with meticulous planning and an unwavering commitment to safety and quality, these challenges were successfully overcome. Before commencing the project, laborers received height training and daily safety briefings, emphasizing the importance of precautionary measures and protocols.
As we continue to face climate change, the adoption of renewable energy is critical. It’s a shining example of how industries can make a significant contribution to reducing our carbon footprint and combatting climate change.
